Installation is a simple procedure requiring a few minutes. Before you install either Desktop or Enterprise, please check the system requirements.

Installation
Unpack the downloaded zip file to the folder where you wish to install. This will create a subfolder called IPE. Check the table below for how to start the graphical installer on your platform. The graphical installer will lead you through the steps of installation.

In a shell window, cd to folder IPE. Type sh install.sh to install. |

In a shell window, cd to folder IPE. Type sh install to install. |
If you are running the install on a server without a windowing system,
run the installation script from a console window with the argument
nogui. This will start a text-only installer. For example
sh startIPE.sh nogui
Once you have finished installing the server through the graphical installer, see the Readme.html file for Enterprise for instructions on running the server and setting up clients. The file is located in the installation directory and reproduced here for convenience.
Upgrading from an earlier version
As of Version 3.20 the upgrade procedure has changed. Please
read the following carefully.
To upgrade from an earlier version, install as described above, making sure that you do not overwrite your existing installation. The installer will ask you if you wish to transfer data from an earlier version. At this point respond yes, and the installer will lead you through the steps needed to transfer the data.
If you have data created previously by version 2.80 and above, this version will convert and use your existing data. However, once you have started using this version, you cannot revert back to the earlier version.
Intellisys Project Desktop
The installation instructions for each individual platform are given on the download page. Note: Please do not use the Microsoft version of java (jview.exe) even if the installer gives it as an option, as it will not work properly.
